Bolje Društvo
“Good food. Good wine. Better company.”
We imagined Bolje Društvo as the neighborhood café and wine bar people return to without needing a reason—for morning coffee, a late lunch, a bottle of wine or simply to stay a little longer. We built the identity to feel warm, distinctive and human rather than polished to perfection.
The Idea
We started with a simple belief: the places people remember are shaped as much by who sits around the table as by what is served on it.
That thought became the heart of the brand. Instead of conventional café cues, we brought together expressive type, loose illustration, intimate photography and small imperfections that make the identity feel collected over time.
Visual Identity
We balanced two contrasting voices: bold, hand-painted typography gives the brand its personality, while a restrained editorial typeface keeps menus and practical information easy to use.
Deep green anchors the system. Wine red, warm ochre and cobalt blue add energy against a soft cream ground. Irregular edges, brush marks and handwritten notes stay visible so the work never feels overly polished.
Illustration as Language
We treated illustration as a core part of the identity rather than decoration. Recurring people, wine glasses, bottles, food, records and botanical forms create a visual vocabulary that can keep growing with the café.
Phrases such as “Vino je bolje kad se deli,” “Slow food, slower days” and “Same people, different bottle” give that vocabulary a voice, allowing the brand to stay recognizable even when the logo is absent.
Photography & Art Direction
We defined a photographic direction that brings real-world warmth into the graphic system: natural light, warm shadows, imperfect framing and close compositions that feel observed rather than staged.
Food appears as it would arrive at the table, while the space is captured through quiet moments across the day. The intention is closer to a photograph discovered on the café’s feed than traditional restaurant advertising.
Digital Experience
We translated the physical character of Bolje Društvo into an editorial digital collage. Hand-painted headlines, photography, illustration, handwritten annotations and subtle paper texture overlap without hiding the path through the experience.
Underneath the expressive layer, the journey stays simple: discover the place, understand its atmosphere, explore the menu and reserve a table.
Digital Menu
We gave the menu more structure without separating it from the identity. Clear categories, straightforward pricing and restrained body type make it easy to scan, while illustration and handwritten details keep it from becoming purely utilitarian.
The same system now moves naturally between the café, website and menu instead of treating each touchpoint as a different brand.
A Living System
We designed Bolje Društvo as a living visual system rather than a fixed logo. Typography, illustration, photography, color and language can expand across signage, packaging, coasters, posters, social content and future digital experiences.
Individual elements can change while the character remains unmistakable: a little imperfect, a little nostalgic, warm, expressive and made for good company.
